There should be a especially horrific place in hell for those who authorized the destruction of Penn Station. Also there seems to be a few commenters on this site who’s intent is to suppress the knowledge of Penn Station?

HI Cat - to be completely honest, I'm not 100% sure where I found that one. However a quick Google search brings up: http://blog.lostmag.com/2005/06/new-yorks-first... which is where I most probably grabbed it from. If this image is a violation, I'm more than happy to remove it.

Dan, on a recent trip to Paris I discovered a most beautiful rail station that avoided the wrecking ball: the Gare d'Orsay which became the Musee d'Orsay, housing a magnificent collection of Impressionist and Post Impressionists works. Perhaps in this country we have a long way to go regarding our architectural heritage. But reality is a strong and destructive force. Think about the great manor houses in England once homes to mighty barons but now forced to open their places for tourists and accommodations. Adapt or die I suppose.

Too bad the fathers of NYC did not have the presence of mind to keep this building standing! What a pity!! :(
